Ringwood Carnival Results 2009

The following awards have been made to groups participating in the two processions. In each case the prize money will be donated to a local charity, school or registered society nominated by the winner.

£500 for the best entry in both processions goes to NEW FOREST CIDER CALENDAR GIRLS entered by Viv Hoare.
£300 for the 2nd best entry goes to RINGWOOD MEDIEVAL DAYS GONE BY entered by Dawn Pepperell.
£200 for the 3rd best entry goes to WILD WEST entered by David Lloyd Club.

The Roy Carter ‘Catweazel’ Trophy for the best young people’s entry was awarded to OUT OF AFRICA entered by1st Poulner Scout Group.

The Cox & Hicks Shield for the best humorous entry was awarded to NEW FOREST CIDER CALENDAR GIRLS entered by Viv Hoare.

The Tom Gamage Trophy for the best entry in the evening procession was awarded to OUT OF AFRICA entered by 1st Poulner Scout Group.

The Jen & Den Newham Youth Trophy for the best entry by a local school (new award for 2009) was awarded to JUNGLE BOOK entered by Poulner Infants.

The Spacemakers cup for the band showing the ‘Spirit of Carnival’ was awarded to the Dolphin Marching Band.

Individual class winners receive £50, to donate to their chosen local charity, school or registered society:

Afternoon procession

Class 3 (Fancy Dress dancing groups

  1. Regis Troopers Group.
  2. Poole Dolphin Cheerleaders
  3. Beat Street Dance and Breakdance.

Class 4 (Topical, humorous or feature float by families & small groups)

  1. Ringwood Medieval days gone by Dawn Pepperell.
  2. Ringwood in Snow by the Harty Bunch.
  3. Harvey and the gang present Snow White by the Parker family.

Class 5 (Topical, humorous & feature floats by large groups, schools & organisations)

  1. Out of Africa by 1st Poulner Scout Group.
  2. The Rock by Poulner Baptist Chapel.
  3. Twittering Tree Tops by Ringwood Infant School.
