Ringwood Carnival Results 2008

The following awards were made to groups participating in the two processions. In each case the prize money will be donated to a local charity, school or registered organisation / society nominated by the winner.

  • £500 for the best entry in both processions goes to HANSEL & GRETEL entered by New Forest School of Dance.
  • £300 for the 2nd best entry goes to HARVEY & GANG PRESENT PETER PAN entered by The Parker Family.
  • £200 for the 3rd best entry goes to WINGWOOD WING WALKERS entered by D Peperell & J Harvey.

The Catweasel Cup for the best young people’s entry in the afternoon parade was awarded to WINGWOOD WING WALKERS entered by D Peperell & J Harvey.

The Cox & Hicks Shield for the best humorous entry was awarded to GHOST BUSTERS entered by The Solomon family and friends.

The Tom Gamage Trophy for the best entry in the evening procession was awarded to A LAD IN A BOTTLE entered by Susan Tyler.

The Spacemakers cup for the band showing the ‘Spirit of Carnival’ was awarded to the Medina Marching Band.

Individual class winners receive £50, to donate to their chosen local charity, school or registered organisation / society:

Afternoon procession

Class 1 (Fancy dress walking)

  1. Ghost Busters by The Solomon family and friends.
  2. Wingwood Wing Walkers by D Peperell & J Harvey.
  3. African Adventures by Woodringers next generation.

Class 3 (Dancing groups)

  1. Twilight Troopers & Regis Troopers both received highly commended awards.

Class 4 (Topical, Humorous or Feature Floats….families & small groups)

  1. Harvey & gang present Peter Pan by The Parker Family.
  2. Fish R Friends by The Harty Bunch.
  3. Magic Roundabout by Albert’s Gang.

Class 5 (Topical, Humorous or Feature Floats….large groups, schools & organisations)

  1. Fete on the Village Green by Ringwood Junior School.
  2. THE WOTS project by Tim Cracknell.
  3. Hansel & Gretel by The New Forest School of Dance.

Evening Torchlight Procession

Class 1 (Fancy dress walking)

  2. Good & Evil.
  3. Greenman Folk by Martin Young.

Class 3 (Dancing Groups)

  1. Pure Funk Commercial Dance.
  2. Disco mad dancing school – Spanish style.
  3. Regis Troopers.

Class 4 (Topical, Humorous or Feature Floats….families & small groups)

  1. Fish R Friends by The Harty Bunch.
  2. Magic Roundabout by Albert’s Gang.
  3. A Lad in a bottle by Susan Tyler.
